COMPETITION TEAM
For dancers who are ready to ask more of themselves.
There comes a point when taking class is no longer enough. A dancer wants more time in the studio, more opportunities to perform, and a reason to find out just how far their training can take them.
Sea to Sky’s Competition Team is where we give them that opportunity.
WHY WE COMPETE
BECAUSE COMPETITION ASKS SOMETHING DIFFERENT OF A DANCER
There is no teacher at the mirror to follow, no stopping to fix a formation, and no “we’ll work on it next week.” Dancers have to know the work, trust their training, rely on one another, and keep performing even when something doesn’t go exactly as planned.
That pressure, in the right environment, can be incredibly valuable.
We compete because preparing for the stage gives dancers something concrete to work toward. Along the way, they learn how to accept correction, recover from mistakes, contribute to something larger than their own part, and discover how much they are capable of when they stop settling for what is comfortable.
We care about doing well. We celebrate the scores, placements, judges’ recognition, and big moments.
We also know that some of the most important results never appear on a score sheet.
ONE COMPANY
THREE TEAMS
Not every dancer needs the same challenge at the same point in their training.
Rising, Momentum, and Collective allow us to place dancers in an environment where they can be pushed without being rushed. Placement is based on the whole dancer, not simply age or years of experience, and considers technique, performance quality, consistency, maturity, work ethic, and readiness for greater responsibility.
RISING
Rising is home to our elementary-aged competitive dancers. Dancers train at the same competitive level as Momentum, with choreography, instruction, and team expectations shaped for younger performers. It is a place to develop strong technique, gain meaningful stage experience, and learn what it means to contribute to a team.
Elementary Team
Momentum serves our middle and high school dancers at the same competitive level as Rising. The age division allows older dancers to train and perform with their peers while continuing to strengthen technique, artistry, consistency, and confidence through a full competitive season.
MOMENTUM
Middle & High School Team
Collective brings dancers together in a team shaped by connection, versatility, and performance. Dancers continue developing their technique and artistry while learning how to adapt, contribute, and create something stronger as a group.
